This following information and links are intended to help our Administrative Support professionals provide services and support to their faculty, researchers, staff and students to maintain compliance with export control and sanctions regulations and Mason requirements.
All administrative support professionals must be up to date with their international collaborations training. Please reach out to our office at [email protected] if you have not been enrolled or want to verify your training is up to date.
Restricted Party Screening
If you are assisting faculty with any international collaborations, travel, shipping or purchasing, please see our Restricted Party Screening page for guidance. Restricted party screening is a key aspect of Mason’s fundamental due diligence. The U.S. government maintains various government lists, which are publicly available, and Mason is required to ensure that we are not interacting with any international parties or foreign contacts found on any of the lists.
International Travel
If you are supporting those traveling internationally it is important to ensure it is in compliance with government export and sanctions regulations, as well as Mason requirements. See our International Travel page for guidance and requirements.
Travel to certain countries requires an application and approval from the University Travel Advisory Committee. Please review the International Travel Website for more information or contact [email protected].
International Collaborations
If you are responsible for supporting faculty or researchers involved in international collaborations, including foreign contacts, visiting scholars and affiliates, it is important to ensure we are collaborating in a safe, secure, and compliant manner. For more information on these requirements, please see the Working with Foreign Colleagues and Organizations page.
You can also contact the Research Security Office at [email protected] or see the Research Security and International Collaborations site for more information regarding new federal mandates aimed at protecting research at U.S. academic institutions.
Purchasing
If you are responsible for purchasing items on behalf of Mason, we must ensure that the purchase is in compliance with export controls and sanctions regulations. See the Purchasing page for more information.
International Shipments
If you need to ship items internationally, it is important to ensure the shipment complies with U.S. export controls and sanctions regulations. See our International Shipments Page for our shipping procedures.
